Epi leather was first introduced by Georges Vuitton and his son Gaston-Louis in 1920 as a way to print designs onto a more durable fabric. It is a sophisticated, robust, and scratch-resistant material made from grained leather that is printed in two batches, creating a difference in colour between the deeper and surface layers. The texture of Epi leather is designed to resemble fields of wheat waving in the sun.

This Cannes vanity style bag is in good vintage condition, with a few small scratches to the base. It features a textured leather exterior, embossed logo, gold-tone top zip closure, tonal leather handle, and a single compartment lined with tonal suede.

This bag was made in France in 1996.
